VariSystems acquired by Teledyne Technologies Inc.
VariSystems is pleased to announce the acquisition of our company by Teledyne Technologies Inc. of Thousand Oaks, California.
Teledyne is a $1.8-Billion company providing sophisticated electronic subsystems, instrumentation and harsh environment interconnection products for use in defense, aerospace, environmental, industrial and nuclear applications. Their breadth of experience will be a tremendous asset to our company.
VariSystems has experienced an explosive growth over the previous three years as industrial adoption of our ruggedized cable and cable assembly interconnect solutions has driven tremendous increases in demand. With Teledyne’s wide-ranging resources supporting our efforts, VariSystems is poised to better embrace that growth and to better serve our customers.
Moving forward we will be known as Teledyne VariSystems but our mission and contact information will remain the same and we look forward to continuing service to you, our loyal customers.
Winter 2012: It is a long, cold winter up in Calgary, Alberta and it's an early start for our 6:30AM first shift as we have many orders to fill and short days to fill them in.
Unless you are a committed downhill skier, you may find that winter is not the best time of year to schedule a visit to Calgary, but it's still a terrific time to visit Teledyne VariSystems and tour our newly expanded production facilities. With the addition of our new shipping/ receiving area, we've brought our facility up to 50,000 square feet.
There are a number of reasons that Teledyne VariSystems' customers have made us the largest custom manufacturer and the vendor of choice for connectivity products; first and foremost is the quality of our products. Teledyne VariSystems' polyurethane cables and cable assemblies are as much as 5-times stronger than other (PVC) cable products. Teledyne VariSystems' cables also have as much as 30-times higher abrasion resistance while still offer superior flexibility and performance in extreme weather.
Our customers have made us the largest because we have delivered the highest quality products at a level of consistency that is unmatched in our industry.
We don’t simply supply products, we offer our customers complete solutions for their connectivity needs, including Engineering, CAD service, Expedite Services and Logistical Support (Inventory Stocking, Off-site KanBans, etc).

Overmolded Cable Assemblies

Complete In-house Manufacturing
From bare copper and raw plastic resins to complete panel and enclosure building, Teledyne VariSystems expertise, production systems and dedication to quality extend across the spectrum of connectivity products. Our products have been used for projects as diverse as well-site stimulation and interface harnesses to CF-18 jet fighter avionics.
Injection Overmolding
"Overmolding" is a unique method of manufacturing superior quality cable assemblies. Teledyne VariSystems takes bare connectors, solders or crimps cable or wire (as per customer requirements), then encloses both cable and connector with injection-molded plastic. The finished assembly is stronger, more weatherproof, more flexible and more reliable than cable assemblies manufactured by traditional methods (cable clamp and heat shrink). From Medical to Military, our cables are featured anywhere that the cost of failure would exceed the cost of utilizing quality cable assemblies to avoid it.
